Due to COVID-19, this class will be held virtually.
What’s up awesome people! Thanks for your interest in joining us in this Virtual Class Instructor Lead Professional Scrum Product Owner class. Wow that is quite a mouthful isn’t it? :)
Anyway, due to the current condition out there, many of us are forced by the situation to do many of our activities at home. Many people have requested me to facilitate a Professional Scrum Product Owner class virtually. So in this class I will deliver a standard Scrum.org PSPO material but I have adapted for online delivery so the value of collaborative learning is still optimal. I am here to support your learning journey to be an awesome Product Owner.
The Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) training is a 2-day training on how to maximize the value of software products and systems. Product Ownership in Scrum today requires more than knowledge of how to write requirements or manage a Product Backlog. Professional Scrum Product Owners need to have a concrete understanding of everything that drives value from their products.
Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) course is THE cutting-edge course for Scrum Product Owners, Agile Product Managers, strategy managers and anyone responsible for a software product’s success in turbulent markets.
Students develop and solidify this understanding through instruction and team-based exercises. The breadth of the role’’s responsibilities in delivering a successful product becomes clear from an Agile perspective on product management. Metrics are identified to track the creation of value and the successful delivery of it to the marketplace. This defines the perspective from which the role of the Product Owner in the Scrum framework is taught.
The audience of the Professional Scrum Product Owner course includes those accountable for maximizing the value delivered by products and services, including;
Below is a high-level agenda for the PSPO course. If Product Owner’s responsibility is only about writing good user stories and mapping it to user persona, attending this course may not bring any benefits. The course consists of modules that build on each other. Modules are exercise-driven, and their success depends on effective group participation and interaction. Attendees should be able to immediately start applying the techniques discussed in this course when they return to work.
Value Driven Development
The primary job of a Product Owner is to maximize the value created by the product for which he or she is responsible. This section covers value drivers, and strategies for measuring them.
Agile product management is different than traditional approaches. This section explores those differences, as well as how the Product Owner works in an Agile environment to deliver a product.
The Product Backlog is the fuel that feeds the development team, and managing it is one of the primary roles of the Scrum Product Owner. Here you will learn about User Stories, ordering and organization strategies, and Product Backlog grooming.
What does a good release look like? Why are releases done? What impact can a bad release have on you and your customer? This section explores release strategies and how to optimize the delivery of value with them.
A release is the first step to realizing value. What better way to learn how to plan a release than to do it? Here students cover the basics of identifying a release goal and requirements, backlog ordering, estimation, adjustment, and baseline planning.
Understanding Total Cost of Ownership is fundamental to successfully managing a product. How do you balance between optimizing the value of a release and maximizing the value of the product or system as an asset for the organization? How does that fit into your product roadmap, and why is your Development Team’s “Definition of Done” so fundamental to everything that you do?
All participants completing the official Scrum.org Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) course will receive a second password to take the PSPO I assessment if the participant cannot pass the first attempt.
These industry-recognized certifications require a minimum passing score on the associated rigorous assessment. Assessment will be done online without having to go to any test centres.
Attendees who are Project Management Institute (PMI) PMP’s are eligible for 15 Professional Development Units (PDU) after completing this course.
Attendees will be able to make the most of the class if they:
